Fostering and Adoption Logo Competition

All smiles for fostering and adoption logo winners!

Smile Logo

Children from schools across the Borough were asked to take part in a competition to design a new logo for the Fostering and Adoption Service.   The hard work of youngsters from across the Borough was rewarded at a presentation ceremony on Tuesday 7th May 2013.

There were dozens of beaming faces when the winners were unveiled for the “What makes me smile?” themed schools competition to create a logo for Cheshire West and Chester’s Fostering and Adoption Service.  Pupils from across the borough produced some dazzling logos and winners were announced at the ceremony held at DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel and Spa, Chester.

The winning logo was designed by Lorna, from Upton High School.  The Logo will be used for fostering and adoption service recruitment.

Councillor Margaret Parker, Chair of the children and adult safeguarding committee said “we have wonderful foster and adoptive families in Cheshire West and Chester but sadly there is always the need for more.  The What makes me smile? Competition has helped school children discuss some of the issues and their excellent entries will be used to publicise a very important need.  Cheshire West and Chester Council aims to make fostering and adoption a successful and happy experience by providing comprehensive training and on-going support”

Town Crier David Mitchell gave an entertaining welcome to more than 150 people, including the Sheriff of Chester, Councillor Bob Crompton and other dignitories.  DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel and Spa provided all the venue and buffet from free.
