Congratulations on 25 years of Fostering

Chris and Phil have been carers for twenty five years.  They were approved on the 19th September 1989 and over this period have loved and cared for over 40 children and young people.  Many of the children, who have now reached adulthood, still keep in touch.

Chris and Phil’s “massive” family have played a big part in their fostering, always willing to babysit and help with the children as part of the family.

Chris has not only fostered children but has also played a large part in delivering training to new prospective carers as well as supporting carers, i.e. as an NVQ assessor.  Chris was one of the original trainers for the CWDC standards introduced in 2008 and was one of the first carers to complete their CWDC in 2009.

Phil has recently retired and is now with Chris, enjoying the activities they still provide for children in their care, i.e. camping and kayaking and other sports that Chris dislikes!

We would like to thank them for their amazing contribution and continuing support to fostering services.  WELL DONE
