Tea party to celebrate Foster Care Fortnight

The Council’s Fostering Team invited foster carers to join them for afternoon tea on the 2 June as part of Foster Care Fortnight. The event, at The Cheshire View, was organised to say thank you to our Foster Carer’s for the care and commitment they give to children and young people across the borough.

Part of Foster Care Fortnight, the UK’s biggest foster care awareness raising campaign organised by The Fostering Network, the day provided an opportunity for foster carers to network with other carers and staff within the service.

Over 30 foster carers enjoyed lunch and an array of cakes followed by a free raffle to win a hamper basket and celebratory cake.

Feedback from carers attending the event included:

“Really lovely afternoon. Great to catch up with other Carers & Social Worker! As for the cakes… yummy!”

“Great opportunity to be introduced & meet fellow Foster Carers & hopefully some future friends!”
