Celebration of Achievement Awards

Celebration eveningThis week staff went along to support an event to celebrate the achievements of Cheshire West and Chester’s looked after children and young people.

Nominations had been made in recognition of a range of achievements from improving school attendance,  actively engaging in clubs, making positive transitions to High School, being kind and helpful to siblings and being members of the Children in Care Council.

Children & young people were given certificates of achievement, gold medal medallions & goody bags in recognition of their individual achievements which were read out during the presentations on stage. The children and young people were then able to have a special photograph in the photo booth with their certificates and medals proudly on show!

There was face painting, balloon modelling, party photo booth and an experience for families to handle snakes, lizards and other critters! This proved exceptionally popular with families and many of the children and young people were fearless when it came to confidence in handling the creatures.

Refreshments including a hot buffet were included at the event and a disco rounded the night off.

This is another example of how Cheshire West and Chester’s fostering service value and appreciate their foster carers and how we are proud to celebrate the achievements of our children and young people.
