British Association for Adoption and Fostering (BAAF) BAAF works with everyone involved with fostering and adoption across the UK. Their activities include:
- Family finding via their monthly newsletter
- Running the Adoption Register
- Producing publications
- Training, conferences and consultancy
- Independent Reviewing Mechanism (IRM).
The Adoption Register for England and Wales is operated by BAAF on behalf of the Department of Children, Schools and Families and the National Assembly for Wales. The Register has a database of details of children awaiting adoption and details of approved adopters.
